When Luke and Rowen Baggenstos heard of Joe’s plight, they did not hesitate to jump in and offer help, hospitality and support. When leaving the Olympic Cluster, Joe Berkau’s truck broke down and necessitated an extended stay for him in Washington. The fancy continues to warm my heart by helping a friend in need. The Utah Beehive cluster also does this every year: What a great way for the fancy to give back to the community! This year, they donated a vest to the Police K-9 team in the area. ?Īlso in the Midwest… the Elgin Kennel Club cluster was held this past weekend. Huge congrats go to Carol Harris and her handling team Justin and Cheslie Smithey for winning both Best in Show and Reserve Best in show the same day! Justin may want to re-think allowing his ever-so-capable spouse in the same BIS ring going forward. I hear the venue was great, but the question remains is 5 days too much? Personally, I feel 5 days is a lot to ask of dogs and humans. Meanwhile back in the Midwest the 5-day Owensboro cluster was held in their new venue, and I believe this was their first 5-day cluster. This is truly a week of non-stop hard work for all of them kudos to all for a job well done! The SBKC and Ryan’s Empire crew work their hind-ends off to ensure all runs smooth and the hard work pays off. Seeing the horse arena transformed into the Breeders Showcase venue continues to amaze me. Another Santa Barbara Kennel Club circuit is in the books and what lovely weather we had! The entry seemed similar to last year and the special events were enjoyed by all.
